Vince Delgado’s Mid-East Tapestry Ensemble

The Mid-East Tapestry Ensemble plays a diverse array of Classical, Urban and Folk music from the Arabic speaking countries as well as Turkish, Greek, Armenian, and Persian traditions. They have performed in concert settings, lecture demonstration presentations, for dance concerts, folk dancing events and art music house concerts. They have performed at over 25 municipal libraries as well as world music classes at Sacramento State University, Santa Rosa Junior College and Dominican University.

Our Mission

In a time when there is so much negative perception about the Middle East, we believe that the aesthetics and variety of these cultures would be of interest to an American audience. There is much beautiful music to be heard from these countries that have been developing and evolving in their culture for a few thousand years.

“The Mid-East Tapestry was a fabulous ensemble that provided valuable insight into the music of the Middle East. The performance and lecture was inclusive and spectacular for music and non-music majors.”
-Prof. Mike Crain

“Many members who attended the lecture commented that the presentation was not only informative and interesting, but rich in musical composition and variety. Personally, I found the lecture contained a wealth of information about the instruments and musical structure that was truly enlightening. While the majority of attendees came to the event knowing nothing about this music, many remarked that they left with new insight into Turkish and Arabic culture imbibed in this fascinating and textured musical tradition.”
