The Mid East Tapestry will be performing at Papa’s Taverna in Petaluma on November 11th. It’s a Sunday afternoon affair from 4-9 PM and located 3 miles east of Petaluma on the Petaluma River. It’s a great place to spend an afternoon – it really takes you to another place and time. The music repertoire will draw from Greek, Turkish, Arabic genres for dancing and listening. At 6 PM there will be a belly dance performance. Great Greek cuisine is offered as well as a full bar.

Hello jazz friends,

I’m bringing in my 75^th year in a swinging – exotic musical style. I’ll be playing on Saturday Dec. 10^th at the very nice piano showroom: The Piedmont Piano Co. @ 18^th/ San Pablo in Oakland. The Fazioli concert grand is a superb instrument projecting richness and beauty of sound. It’s the same piano used on my latest CD Somethin’ Special.

The trio cats: Buca Necak and Vince Delgado are perfectly suited for the varied material of jazz and world music that we will present on this special evening. The program will include, as always, swinging jazz, bebop/post-bop, and selections of beautiful Latin American and Cuban boleros, salsa grooves plus Middle Eastern – Eastern European tunes, as well as a bit of tango jazz. Buca has performed with Chet Baker, Anita O’Day, Clark Terry, and many others. Vince has worked with musicians as diverse as Vince Guaraldi, and the classic Eastern musicians Zakir Hussain and Ali Akbar Khan.
