Syria has a rich and colorful musical tradition that is being torn apart  by the civil war and meddling by outside powers. A group of musicians have come together  to pay tribute to the people of Syria. They will perform classic Arabic tunes arranged for jazz and famous jazz tunes played on Arabic instruments. Foreign correspondent Reese Erlich will describe his visits to Syria’s famed music academies and the hard times they face today. He will discuss the disastrous new war being waged by the US against Iraq and Syria, and why it only helps the extremist groups, talking about his new book “Inside Syria: the Backstory of Their Civil War and What the World Can Expect.”
